Strategic data analysis
Strategic data analysis plays a crucial role in shaping the direction and further development of the University of Graz. It utilises comprehensive analyses of data across various areas, such as teaching, research, services, human resources, resources and equality, in order to make informed decisions and implement measures. These analyses serve as the basis for the university’s management, strategic planning and the achievement of its strategic objectives.
By examining strengths and potential in key areas of activity, important developments and interrelationships are identified and analysed. This enables those in charge to make informed assessments and strategic decisions in order to manage the University of Graz effectively and achieve its long-term goals.
The results of these strategic data analyses provide clear insight into the university’s current situation and help to forecast future developments. On this basis, targeted measures and strategies can then be developed to continuously improve and further develop the performance and success of the University of Graz.
Analyses of the course of study
The study progress analyses are used in the university’s strategic areas. The university’s governance, the development and revision of curricula, and other management areas rely on student data. For the ‘Study Forums’ project, the ‘Study Progress Analyses’ application was developed, which enables the analysis of weekly updated data on an individual basis at the curriculum level. With the aim of improving the student experience at the University of Graz, regular meetings are held between the Performance and Quality Management department, other administrative units, and representatives of the degree programmes and students, in order to identify areas for improvement and make adjustments based on the analyses.
